The Brain

The “HEAD” brain

Our brains (yes - we have more than one brain) are amazing! They appear to be the foundation (as far as science has determined at this point in time) for almost everything related to our experiencing this 3-dimensional world ALONG WITH our responses to both our internal and external environments.

There is (1) the brain between our ears (our “HEAD” brain).

(2) our “Gut” Brain, which is often referred to as the “Second Brain”. While ancient health practitioners (as far back as the Dong-jin Dynasty in China and in ancient Greece) were aware of the connection between our gut, our mood, our thinking process, and more, it is mostly recent research with modern methodology that has led to a greater understanding of the dynamics occurring on the gut-brain axis. Learn a little more by watching Our Gut Brain Video.

AND (3) our third brain is sometimes referred to as the “mini-brain in the heart”. While the “mini-brain” has been studied since the early 1990s, recent research discovered that the heart has its own independent nervous system that regulates the rhythm of the heartbeat.

To make things (hopefully) easier, I’ve provided definitions for some of the basic concepts related to our brains. You can check them out HERE.
