education
My undergraduate degree was a double major: Special Education Teacher and Developmental Psychology.
I was distressed at the inefficacy of the “testing tools” for students - and I was very good in math… so I went to graduate school and completed my degree in Measurement, Statistics, and Research Methodology in the field of Education with the idea of pursuing a career in test development. While I did not graduate (I was prevented from publishing my thesis, a requirement at the time), I “let go” of the dream when I discovered there was a dearth of jobs in that field.
I eventually earned my Masters in Social Work, specializing in trauma treatment and school social work.
I have also studied many, many perspectives related to energy - specifically, the energy of our physical, emotional, and mental bodies. While I most definitely “saw” energy patterns of words, emotions, and thoughts by the time I was 6 years old, I did not understand what I saw or how I was able to manipulate the energy of a body just by laying my hands on them. I just knew that when someone was hurting, whatever it was that I did made them feel better.
It was “logical” to me to study this area of “beingness,” thus, I am a practitioner of many techniques, from meditation to Reiki to Psych K to being a full Mesa carrier of a Cross-Cultural/ Peruvian shamanic tradition.
What I’ve learned? It is ALL the energy of Unconditional Love, just with different bells and whistles.
experience
I have worked with people in many settings, from schools to offices, one-on-one to large groups.
I have worn many hats: teacher, substitute teacher, manager, facilitator, mentor, tutor, supervisor, professional organizer, fundraiser chairperson, newsletter editor, singer/songwriter, therapist, school social worker, clinical social worker, and more.
Every “hat” has taught me much about people AND inspired me to keep learning more and more about how our brains “work.”
observations
Part of what I learned about people is that most want to do and be the best version possible of themselves.
Those who don’t (or, in reality, can not) are overwhelmed, overworked, over-stimulated, etc., by life and all it entails…
In other words, their life experiences did not enable them to learn the tools which assist them in having an easier, better, or happier life.
That is where I - and other coaches and therapists - can assist.
Understanding how the brain works, how perception works, how beliefs develop, etc., CAN facilitate in removing self-judgement and recrimination, enabling one to make HEALTHY CHANGES towards a better, happier, and more fulfilling life.
It also can assist one in being more compassionate and empathetic - corresponding to an increase in one’s kindness & greater unconditional love towards self AND others.
ALL energy techniques are love - unconditional love. Therefore, technically, it does not matter which one is used to facilitate healing and/or balancing of “constrictions” in the energy flow of a person’s body, emotional heart, or mind.
HOWEVER - our beliefs DO impact what assists in this process. My ability to “see” energy patterns and how these patterns are woven together (in relation to “constrictions”) facilitates determining which technique(s) are more likely to be effective in facilitating a natural flow of energy.
My understanding of how all this is entwined with the physical/mental/ emotional-3D aspect of beingness helps me to both explain how and what is impacting any given “constriction” AND ALSO allows me to discern what YOU can do to facilitate your own change.
This is what I do during an I.D.E.A. session. I.D.E.A. is the anacronym for Intuitive Dynamic Energy Analysis. I utilize my gifted ability of “seeing” energy patterns - typically the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, ancestral, and situational lines of energy - and combine it with my knowledge of how the physical & emotional brains receive input, process it, interpret it, and create beliefs & expectations. This enables me to interpret the patterns in your life that are inhibiting your growth and development in the specific situation you are wanting to resolve.
